This little wall hanging was asking for echo quilting around some swirls in the green background fabric. It just felt like it needed to be quilted in a fun, freehand way. So with neon green Isacord 40 wt. thread on top and SuperBobs in a natural color in the bobbin, I had some fun.
The tension was wonderful on top, but a bit tight on the back - a sacrifice I had to make in order to use the thread I wanted to use today. I just love how the neon green thread looks variegated on the green background fabric:
This quilt also looked like it would like a bit of sparkle - but not too much since it's such a simple little quilt.
So the star and the border got some yummy Madeira metallic thread that I am now totally hooked on. I kept the natural SuperBob in the bobbin, and used a 4.0 titanium needle. Again, the tension on top was wonderful but a bit tight on the back.
All that's left to finish is Witchy-Poo's broom frond, which is going to be quilted with more Madeira metallic I think. I'm leaving that little area for tomorrow because I just can't decide which thread to use!

She's adorable!
