Twister Quilt and New Pantos

My first job of 2013 is this warm-colored Twister quilt, made by a very prolific new quilter in our guild.  I chose Aurifil #2320 for the top (40 wt.) and the bobbin (50 wt.). The color of this thread matched the backing fabric perfectly, and that's what I was hoping for:

I am using the "Floreale" pantograph by Patricia Ritter:

I didn't want dark thread to make a mess on the front, especially on the light tan border fabric. So this pretty suede palomino color is making me very happy:

To kick off the New Year, I ordered seven terrific pantographs. I am somewhat of a pantograph hoarder and so I must keep an eye on myself. But these 7 designs have me very excited about the full queue of customer quilts in my studio:

Hot Cocoa

Rose Garden

Carrie's Curls

Square Fold Diagonal

Honeycomb

Baptist Swirl

Garden Frills

We live in ranching country, but we aren't ranchers. Occasionally we get a taste, though, of the ranching life. That was the case yesterday. After watching the Rose Parade on television and hanging out in our jammies all morning, we heard some unusual sounds outside. A different kind of parade - steamy and not so rosy-smelling:

  1. Love those new pantos. Hot Cocoa looks like one I need. Glad to see you are back to blogging and have solved the vibration issue.
