Black Beauty

The black and cream fabrics in this quilt are just stunning! There is a Twister pattern in the middle, and a smaller Twister pattern in one of the borders. The back has a fabulous Twister block set-in on the  diagonal:

I chose "Bountiful Feathers" by Hermione Agee of Lorien Quilting. At 13.5" it was the right scale for this 100" X 100" quilt:

The tension was perfect throughout. In the bobbin I used Aurifil 40 wt. cotton in a very pale creamy color to match the backing fabric. On top I went with this delicious Floriani embroidery thread in a tannish-gold shimmery color, #PF733.

I was absolutely captivated by the way the light was catching the thread moving through the different fabrics:

I only have about 3 or 4 spools of Floriani thread in my studio. But I can see it is time to start gathering more colors.

I love comments! But not from spammers. So I've had to add word verification to my comment section to keep them away. I'm so sorry! I hope you will still leave comments even though it will be a bit more difficult. : )
